  • My nail's turning white at the root...?

I clipped my nail too close and got a little cut on my finger. Well, looks like it got infected and it's really swollen up...The swelling's still there and now I noticed that my nail's starting to turn white at the root and looks like it's spreading to the tip.

If I look closely, I can see where the nail starts and I can almost lift it up. looks like it's coming off or something..But the other half of my nail is still nice and healthy.

Could this be a fungus infection? If not, what else could it be? Do I make an appointment with the doctor for this or what? I heard that there's a way to treat fungus infection with vinegar. What do I do with it?

If the nail comes off, would it grow back? I'm scared that I'll be missing a nail!My nail's turning white at the root...?
I cannot answer if it is an infection/fungus or not, but I have completely lost a nail before and they do grow back even if nothing is there for a while. No worries.

What r the white spota under your finger nail y r they there?

The white spots under your nails are there because, at one time or another, you hit or slammed your fingernails onto something. These spots are pretty much similar to scars on your skin. Often times, you should not be alarmed when you have them under your nails. As your nails grow, after a time, you'd notice that the spots are gone too.

Sometimes though, the spots may indicate that you are allergic to nail paints and polishes. Psoriasis and eczema can also trigger these whitish spots to appear. Lastly, if your nails are fragile, they will easily split so you will often have white spots under them.

How do i get my nails to be white at the ends?

i already drink lots of milk but they ar clear, how do i get them white at the ends naturally? How do i get my nails to be white at the ends?
get a bowl and some of the little lemon containers. Pour the lemon in the bowl and soak your nails in it. After they have dried naturally, wash your hands and use hand cream on your hands. It worked for me.How do i get my nails to be white at the ends?
They get pretty darn white %26amp; no you don't dilute it. It may take a week or two to work. Good luck and God Bless my friend

    get a french manicure
They sell a pencil at the drugstore to apply under the nail tip, about two dollars. I've used it and it last throughout the day.
    French tips. It's a manicure.
make sure you clean em out good and manicure them..or if you are going for the unnatural route i would say get fakes nails or color your nails white.
i dont know...i dont think they are suppose to be naturally super white any ways...my nail tips look like a frosted clear
you dont it is impossible...go get a french manicure.
No persons nails are paper white, usually you should add water to your diet as well decrease the amount of red meat if not eliminate it. Also put fruits and veggies in your diet i would say after a month you should notice a change in the color. Your nails are a product of the things in your body, nails are just dead cells.
go get your nails a French manicure.

How To Make White Tips on Nails?

When I put white polish on the nail tips over a light polish it didn't want to dry. Is there a trick to getting that French nail look? How To Make White Tips on Nails?

Good Luck! How To Make White Tips on Nails?
theres this thing called konad nail art

and its like image plates and you just put the nail polish on and remove. its super easy!

they have image plates for french nails also

but its quite coslty but worth it because you can reuse them over and over.

or you can always go to a store and have them do it for you
    well .

    1) put the clear base coat wear you want the white tips .

    2) put the white coat onto wear you want it . to make it more defined take a small brush and dip it into the acetone nail polish remover and smooth it out .

    3) wait for it to dry .

    4) when it is dry put on a coat of the clear nail polish .

also there is a product out their that makes your nail tips whiter . go to your chemist and ask for it or at target or kmart or anything .
you can get some little strips, drugstore, wal- mart, they fit just under your tip on the nail, then take white polish, apply it, let it dry, COMPLETELY, then put a clear coat (top coat) on. If you do put base coat on, it also has to dry completly. White polish is very tricky, good luck!
when you get a french manicure set thing, they usually have something like a little piece of tape that is rounded at the top and then you put that on your nails and paint white you wait for it to dry, peel off the tape, then put on the clear coat.
    buy a french nail kit.

it comes with top pieces so you put it under where you want the white and it will come out smoothe.

or there is a very good fake nail ones.

    i love them.

    either glue ons

    or stick ons.

stick ons dont ruin your nails as much :P

yupp the sally hansen french tip nail pen found at either target walmart or wegmans, it really really works, my nails look awsome haha
Buy the Sally Hansen french manicure kit at the drugstore. It cost under ten dollars.
I bought a nail kit, it had me put tape on the rest of my nail and it worked so thats what I sugjest
    have a professional do it

(or buy a french nail pen)
change the base coat you are using

Whats this white discolouration on my nail?

either what the other people said, or if you wear nailpolish all the time, and then take it off your nails will sometimes be yellow from lack of oxygen.Whats this white discolouration on my nail?
If it's like a spot or something, it can be some sort of lack of calcium. I know there's a proper term for it-I just forgot what it was. It's like calcium de-something.Whats this white discolouration on my nail?
I've heard that its a calcium deficiency and possibly dehydration. Its a bruise on your nail.

Why do i have a white mark on my nail?

calcium or zinc? Why do i have a white mark on my nail?
White spots can be caused from calcium deposits. If you drink a lot of milk its very common to get calcium deposits in your nails. They can also be caused from trauma to the nail such as bumping it against something or smashing your finger. Why do i have a white mark on my nail?
it is caused by a mild zinc deficiency which can be easily corrected by taking a dietary supplement.

and according to our neplease tradition if we get a white mark on our nails we'll get a gift or some new things by family member to add to our locker room heheheheheh:P that's just our belief
basically, its the defficany or lack in calcium AND zinc. Its not just one of these minerals, it can be both, or just one. the only way to tell if your lacking in zinc or calcium, is by going into ur gp, and they will examine you, and tell you which one. just add more nutritional supplements to your diet and they should clear up within months.
lack of calcium, also if u have psoriasis it can be through that also, ask GP

I saw that too! It was NEXT and the guys name was Paris...It kills brain cells. Don't try it.
No....it's finger nail polish not tooth polish.
don't worry they don't have to be EXTREMELY

super white like the crest commercials

I'm sure your teeth are fine - - I'd advise you not to take the risk of putting white nail polish on your teeth because after all its NAIL polish . Something i do advise is try different products or even call your dentist for advice or even a cleaning

good luck on achieving SUPER pearly whites !
I don't think nail polish is good for your teeth or your health because you might swallow the toxic stuff in nail polish...

Try teeth whitening strips or toothpaste. They're safer.

Several of my finger nails have turned milky white well below the tips. It seems to be occurring more?

frequently as I age. I'm 62. In the past, taking some 'extra' vitamin A and D cleared it up. Lately though, it takes longer to change. Is there something else I can do or need to know?

Thanks for your help.Several of my finger nails have turned milky white well below the tips. It seems to be occurring more?
Nails that break easily or are discolored could signal a medical problem or be a sign that your body lacks essential vitamins and nutrients. Your nails could also be damaged by the kind of cleaning fluid you use, false fingernails, or even gardening without gloves.

The list below is meant as a guideline; only your doctor or health-care provider can make an accurate diagnosis.

What The Nail Looks Like - What It MIGHT Mean

Nail is white - Liver disease

Nail is half pink, half white - Kidney disease

Nail bed is red - Heart conditions

Yellowing and thickened nail that is slow-growing - Lung disease

    Pale nail beds - Anemia

Yellowish nails with a slight blush about the base - Diabetes

Again, the list above are only possibilities, so please don't panic. It would be wise though to check with a physician...

Your condition may also be 'Leukonychia Totalis'

a whitening of the entire nail.

Please read the description by clicking the following link:

Well when i had white lines appearing on my nails my mother(who is a doctor) told me i didn't have enough calcium inside me! So i drank more milk..

    It did go away..

i get that and im 25, i call them clouds.

What really causes the ends of our nails grow to become white rather than their original color?

Maybe due to no blood contact?I dont know.Help, and the most explaining answer gets 11 points from me.

star if you wish to.What really causes the ends of our nails grow to become white rather than their original color?
Your nails are translucent/white all over. That is their original color. They appear pink on your fingertips because of the skin and blood vessels underneath. After they grow over the edge you no longer see the pink so they appear white. If you ripped off your entire nail it and washed off all the attached skin and blood (I do not recommend this!) it would be white.

[edit] in response to Esther: The lunula is the crescent shaped white area next to the nail bed, where the nail grows out from. It is white because the area under it, the germinal matrix, contains few blood vessels. As the nail grows over the better vascularity (more blood vessels) of the fingertip it takes on a pinkish tone again. What really causes the ends of our nails grow to become white rather than their original color?
the growing end of the nail is usually half- moon in shape, and is usually white in colour. this region is called 'lunula'. the nails are composed of a substance called keratin. at the growing end, the keratin has a white colour, as it mixes with the atmospheric air.
Sasha's response is correct but no need to pull off a nail to prove it. Just push down on the tip of one of you nails (press the nail tip against the finger) . This will cause the blood to recede and you should see part of your thumbnail turn white.

It is due to once they grow out and past your finger or to a certain point air hits it and that is what makes it turn white. That is what I was told by the person who does my nails.
this is because when our nails grow they get exposed to the outer air.We keep cleaning the so the nail keeps getting thinner add its thus loses its original colour!....remember each time one has a hot water bath....the shade of their nails become lighter!
my guess is that the part that is attached to live tissue does not get dry, and when it grows out it does dry out and turn white. just a guess...

you get a star for asking a good question :)

How to do the white tips on nails?

Like a french manicure at home. With sellotape? How DO they make them? How to do the white tips on nails?
At the salon, they just paint on the white tip freehand for natural nails. With enough practice, you can do this as well - I've been practising on my toes for now.How to do the white tips on nails?
If you have a really steady hand you could just follow the natural line of your fingernail with white fingernail polish. Some kits come with tape to get a perfect line.

However, for a nice clean look Sally Hansen sells a pencil that you moisten and run underneath your fingernails. The excess washes right off, then apply a coat of clear polish and it looks really nice.
    Here's what you need:

Nailene Perfect Tip Nail Polish guides.

Longer %26amp; Stronger Perfect ';10'; White Nail Polish

Maybelline Express Finish Clear Nail Polish.

Put the guides on your finger nails. All of your nails, left and right.

Only polish on hand at a time. It works best that way.

Polish your first coat on your right hand...do not put any on the left yet. Then start on the second coat on your right hand...BUT..right after you put the second coat on a finger you HAVE to take off the guide. If you take off the guide while the polish is still wet, you don't get those jagged uneven lines. Do this for each finger on your right hand. Wait until it's dry (about 5 minutes) then repeat this on your left hand. After all your fingers are dry, put on the clear nail polish.

I hope I havn't confused you...I re-read this and I'm not even sure I understand it...But if you use the things I said to use and rember to take off the guide while the polish is still wet, you'll be okay. Good luck
theres this brand called carnonia. they sell the whole set in a box.....three in one all you need for a perfect french tip.....and guess what????.....its so damn cheap!

I can,t be 100% on this but i have had 2 rotweiler pups and 1 german shepard and both breeds had white spots on thier nails as pups Try a little calcium powder (Available at good pet Stores) around a teaspoon in food or 1/2 teaspoon in warm milk this worked for me with both breeds . So i guess im 99% sure on this! Hope this helps !!What causes the white spots on my puppies nails? (Similar to white spots on human fingernails after injury)?
    calcium build up
They are just calcium deposits, it wont hurt them but i think it means they are low in calcium, you could try giving them bones to chew or raw chicken wings to build up their calcium.
its a calcium dificency i bought some calcium tablets from my pet store or get them from the vet
I'd say your puppy is low on zinc. My dog had those white spots a few months back and we asked our friend who is a vet and she said that it is because he was lacking zinc.

Since you dog is only a puppy i'd say he needs to be given more calcium and zinc because he is growing.
    Lack of Calcium
Calcium build up or lack of white blood cells?

  • Do Asian Nail Salons Hire White People?

i am certified in makeup, but im going to try to become a nail technician and i know the most business is at asian nail salons, so i was wondering if they ever would hire white people. i know they like to stay family/nationality oriented for many reasons especially the difficulty to converse, but i thought MAYBE they'd take a chance? i'd love everyone's opinion! thanks so much ;-)Do Asian Nail Salons Hire White People?
Some of them are family owned and they only hire within their family and close family friends. I'm sure there are some racist people who only hire people within their nationality but I've had my nails done/ eyebrows waxed by white women at a majority asian salon before so I'm sure they do! You just have to ask around. It seems like you are qualified and I'm sure if you put together a portfolio of your work it would be hard for them to resist! Good luck! =]Do Asian Nail Salons Hire White People?
Well, I have 2 aunts (asian) that own their own nail salon. My aunt Jenny has hired some before because they had skill. My aunt Anna doesn't because her's is more of close friends and family business. She isn't racist but she wanted it to be a family business. And to us asians reallly close friends are like family. It really depends, but I hope you get the job :)
Not usually, if you know the people who own the store and you're good at it then most likely. I think they usually hire other asians because they can communicate and family/friend connections.

Give it a shot. What's the worst that can happen?
Not hiring someone because of race is illegal.

Proving it is another matter but if an entire shop is all one minority and they refuse you despite needing help then you probably have a complaint.
Ask around... Most of these places are family run, but as you know most places Asian or not will rent a station.
if u got good skill, yes.

but asian nail salon will most likly have more asian customers. if u don't speak chinese, then it's hard.

if they did they wouldn't be asian salons anymore

My wife wants to remove her ';pink & white acrylic nails'; at home. What is the best way to do this?

Soaking them in pure, 100% acetone is the best, and most effective way to remove acrylic nails. And no, it does not cause any pain to do this. After they have soaked for at least 30 minutes, use an orange stick to gently scrape the softened acrylic off your nails while keeping them immersed in the acetone the entire time. This is because the acrylic will harden up again very quickly if she takes her nails out of the acetone and exposes them to air. If this happens, she has to pretty much start all over again. Whetever she does, make sure that she never pulls them off, rips them off, or pries them of. This WILL cause damage to her natural nails. And make sure she never lets a tech do any of those things either. There is a right way, and a wrong way to remove acrylic nails. Forcing acrylic nails off is most definitely NOT the right way to remove acrylic nails. Soaking them in acetone is the right way, and the only safe way to remove acrylic nails. Period. Not acetone polish remover, but 100% acetone. Acetone polish remover has acetone in it - this much is true, But it's diluted acetone, and it is nowhere near as effective as pure acetone is.My wife wants to remove her ';pink %26amp; white acrylic nails'; at home. What is the best way to do this?
If your wife has had them for a while, she may want to soak both hands in acetone, in a bowl with a towel over it. While soaking (if she has had them for a while), she may want to use a steel file, to scrape some of the it off.

I wore them for about 15 years and it took me 3 years to get my natural nails back to normal. Her natural nail will be very thin.

My wife wants to remove her ';pink %26amp; white acrylic nails'; at home. What is the best way to do this?
Cut the acrylic nails down as short as you can with nail clippers or down to as long as you want your natural nails if they've grown long enough. Get nail polish remover with acetone and pour into a bowl. She needs to soak her nails in the bowl and the acrylic will begin to dissolve. Takes a while though.
Nail polish remover, or an undiluted acetone (some beauty shops sell it, if not, home depot does), if she must do it at home, but it's kinda tedious and it may not work though all the bits of acrylic, so it's a lot easier and more practical to just have them removed at the salon.

I'm cheap and all, but you gotta put a price on your time too, yanno?

    Hope it helps! =o)
I think you should take her to the nail salon. She could easily do more damage to her nail beds that will already be done by the removal process alone. Also her natural nails will be wrecked and thin and a professional manicure will make her feel so much better after the acrylic is off.
ouch ouch its going to hurt BAD but soak them in acetone nail polish remover. it will soften them up. Then use cuticle clippers and wedge it underneath the nail and lift slowly. Some will come right off and others will break into pieces so she'll have to get each piece. Its going to take off layers of her real nail too when you do it like that. But thats the only way to do it at home.
You can use acetone nailpolisher remover or you can use laquer thinner it works a lot quicker than the nail polish remover..i usually use it and it take maybe like 5 minutes sometimes 10to where as the nail polish remover will take like 30 min to and hour
Acetone is the best way. At most drugstores they sell little bowls of it with fans on the side if the bowl specifically for removing nails. Otherwise just get acetone nail polish remover and have her soak them until the nails dissolve.
dut her nails into a bowl of warm water and keep them there so it will melt the glue and theyll come of easier
    buy an acetone :)

and put some on a cotton and wipe it on your nails :)

i mean on your wifes nails :)

It's just the nail polish and stickers that you use to make your white tips look even and like you got them done at a salon. unless you want it all natural... let your nails grow longer and the white part will grow as well... there are vitamins you can take or a certain nail growth polish you can buy. ( I use it and its amazinggg)How do you get nails that look like white tips from the salon?
just take some vitamins that help your nails grow and the white part will grow more

What causes the white spots on nails?

    Hey everyone :)

I have heaps and heaps of white spots on my nails and I really want to know what causes them. I've asked a heap of people and everybody has a different answer so if I could have the ACTUAL answer that would be greatly appreciated! Also if you can, tell me how to get rid of them?

Thanks in advance xWhat causes the white spots on nails?
I was always told that it was from not getting enough calcium but every single day I drink a glass of full cream milk and sometimes I got the white spots and other times I was completely free of them. All the while, my calcium intake never changed. I've asked the doctor as well and they have confirmed that this is a myth, or an old wives tale if you prefer.

The white spots are actually caused by damage to the nail in the area whilst it is still under the skin. If you bang your hand around, or knock it in that general area (it doesn't have to be very hard at all, in fact you probably wouldn't even notice doing it) because the nail under that skin is still soft and unformed it causes it damage and that is what the white spot is once your nail grows out.

You can prevent them just simply by being more careful and taking better care of yourself. Stop banging your hands around, stop doing (r be more careful whilst doing) outside or other 'hands on' work. What causes the white spots on nails?
Actually, the biggest cause of that is due to previous injury to the nail bed.

Basically, it's like a bruise to your skin.

Everyone gets them, it's nothing to be worried about.

They could also be the result of a zinc deficiency, but if that was the case, you would probably also be experiencing hair loss and a slow immune system. Certain kinds of nail polish, and nail polish remover could cause this as well, being a mild nail allergy.

    Hope this helps!
I get a few of them now and then..

It's generally for deficiencies.. often calcium

Drink more milk and eat more calcium-containing foods - that should get rid of it.

I've also had a few friends in the past who had these spots from an iron-deficiency, so that might be the case for you aswell.

Just check out if your having a proper balanced diet really.
When I was growing up there was a saying that the white spots on your nails means that you told a lie. I don't know how true it is but I grew up thinking it was true.
Sometimes they can be caused by a zinc deficiency and other times (more commonly) by a slight bump or bang that you probably didn't even notice at the time. They are harmless and the only problem they cause is being sometimes unsightly.
They are calcium deposits in your nails.
    Not getting enough calciumm.

    DRINK YOUR MILK AND CHEESE.
i dunno! but i have them too! ive noticed that i had them more when i ate meat.......i only have a random one here and there

Can you paint the top of your nails with a white out pen?

i was just wondering if its safe or nott. but it goes on alot smoother then normal white out. So is it safe to use?Can you paint the top of your nails with a white out pen?
Just buy normal, white nail polish. That stuff reeks, and it's not meant to go on nails. Can you paint the top of your nails with a white out pen?
yeah its safe, but after it dries it'll probably look a lil sloppy because white out tends to turn an off blue color or off white.
sure, i did it all the time.

it just flakes off and sometimes hurts if you push too hard with the pen, lmao.
you can but it will look kinda crappy
yes but it looks terrible. :P
yes, ive done it before when i ran out of polish and needed to touch up my french manicure : )

How do you get the nail polish off your white shirt?

this happend to me, when it dries, scrap it off with your nail, and it should scrap right off.....How do you get the nail polish off your white shirt?
I got red nail polish on a pair of khakis once. I searched around on the internet for a while to see if anything would get it out, and I kept seeing that OFF! bug spray would remove it. So I skeptically tried it, and it worked like a charm. Spray some bug spray on the spot where the nail polish ended up and use a toothbrush (or a brush similar) to scrub in a circular motion until the stain is gone. You'll probably have to spray the bug spray on the stain a few times until it comes completely out, but it really does work.

Good luck. :)How do you get the nail polish off your white shirt?
if the nail polish is dried onto the shirt, it probably won't come off.. but if it's still wet, keep it wet and in the sink and take some nail polish remover and then try rubbing the shirt together with the nail polish remover to remove the stain :]
I suppose you could try using nail-polish remover.
to put white nail polish on um.

Should i get pink and white nails or gels?

what is the difference between the two?

    which costs more?

    how often to fill each?

and this is a stupid question but with pink and whites, can you get any other colors? i like to mix up the colors on my nails, so sometimes i want red sometimes pink sometimes blue even! so can they even do that with pink and whites????Should i get pink and white nails or gels?

Is it easy for a young white female to get at job on oahu as a nail technician or a job in public relations?

thinking about moving back to oahu, i was just wondering would it be difficult to get a job as a nail tech. or a job in public relations? im a white female, i know some of the locals aren't very fond of us ';hoales'; lol. just wondering about this..Is it easy for a young white female to get at job on oahu as a nail technician or a job in public relations?
If you have the experience or degrees in PR, I would start there. Caucasians make up about 20% of the population %26amp; just like everyone, we've gotta work. If you don't make a big deal out of ethnicity, it is unlikely to get in your way. But almost all of the nail salons here are owned %26amp; operated by Vietnamese %26amp; I think you could have a hard time finding employment in that industry on Oahu.

Let me explain that the reason I think you might have trouble finding work in a nail salon is that most of them are small mom %26amp; pop places, where it feels like the staff is family. Now that may not be the case all over, but at least in the places that I have gone for a pedicure, that is how it seems. Is it easy for a young white female to get at job on oahu as a nail technician or a job in public relations?
I'm white never had a problem getting a job. Rode the bus to work each day and was the only white person on there. Didn't have any problems again. As long as you are respectful to everyone you talk to and don't judge then you will be fine.
Your being haole has NOTHING to do with you being able to get a job. If you get a job it's because you have the qualities that a company is looking for not because of the color of your skin.

I wish you luck in finding a job here in Hawaii. With one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, EVERY job is competitive.

Why Is the nail on my big toe turning white ?

It seems It comes frome under the nail It doesn't hurtWhy Is the nail on my big toe turning white ?
    Blu

do you have a substance under you nail - it may smell unpleasant.

If so you may have a fungal infection. Go see a doctor, if he does suggest a fungus you have two choices, a quick fix using pharmaceutically produced medication (this may have a detrimental affect on your liver) or a more natural remedy using something like vinegar or Tea tree oil.

Whichever route you you take be mindfull that the condition will not clear up overnight - it is fairly slow process but has a high success rate providing you last course. Why Is the nail on my big toe turning white ?
    Probably nail fungus.

Under my fingernail it was blue, red and white.I removed a layer of nail to clean out what was under my nail.?

Its clean but its formed a little hole on my nail. should i see a doctor? how fast will it grow back? .Or was it a bad move to destroy my fingernail layer to clean out what appeared to be dried blood :| also i don't know how i got my nail red, blue and white, its not a fungus i might have hit it on something but im not sure :SUnder my fingernail it was blue, red and white.I removed a layer of nail to clean out what was under my nail.?
you should totally see a doctorUnder my fingernail it was blue, red and white.I removed a layer of nail to clean out what was under my nail.?
the nail will grow and the hole will move to the top and you can clip it off (or bite it w/e) dont worry it will be fine.
You may have bruised the nail bed to get the blue under your nail in the first place. For the whole you don't need to see a doctor unless it begins to act as if it is infected. You must keep that area extra clean because if it does get infeected it will be very painful. Your nail layer will grow back and the whole will go away and it shouldnt take longer than a week or two before you notice it beginning to close up. And advice- in the future try not to pick at your nail bed you could cause damage to lead to your nail bed dying and it will never grow back.
Shiitt that sucks, you might wanna see a doctor though. I dont know haha. bet i was no help.
your nails are pretty patriotic. lol go see a doctor dude.

Why is my gerbil limping and his nails are going white?

please help I don't no what to do . does any one know how much a vet check is. and do you think his leg should be amputated or will that cause more things to happen to him ? Why is my gerbil limping and his nails are going white?
Just see the vet he help and i thing a check is less than 鈧?00Why is my gerbil limping and his nails are going white?
Tina an office visit to the vet is only around $20.00...I wouldn't want any of my animals to be in pain and suffering so you really need to take the gerbil to the vet....if they have to amputate the leg I would just put it to sleep...I think that is more humane......and probably cheaper....good luck
Poor little guy. I hope I can put this delicately, I think that the blood flow isn't getting to his hind leg. Sorry, I don't think this could be good for your little pal. You should go to the vet, sorry but I don't know the bills for the vet if you take him there.
There could be blockage of blood to her legs or gerbil arthritis, he is not getting enough blood to his hind legs. You need a vet diagnosis.
humane society will see him/her cheap in some areas but about 25/30$ for visit and then if much is done it will go up how old is it
Sounds like a lack of blood flow. Sorry, but that can't be good!

    White stuff under nail polish?

so i just painted my nails last night with this neon orange color. started with a base coat, 2 color coats and then a top coat. today it's already flaking off and it looks like there's little white bubbles underneath the polish, how do i fix this?White stuff under nail polish?
It might be the base coat, just put the nail polish and then the top coat on.

Although I don't your a bottom or top coat and my nail polish always stays on for atleast 3 days, maybe it's the type you use though. I suggest OPI.White stuff under nail polish?
the bubbles are air bubbles obviously and they are caused when you shake your nailpolish to mix it

instead, roll it between your hands which should cut down on air bubbles

I would like to know how to do black and white acrylic nails. With the black as tips?

Hi , i was just wondering how would i do black and white acrylic nails. As the black color on the tips and the white color on the nail bed (like the singer from tokio hotel).I would like to know how to do black and white acrylic nails. With the black as tips?
That is kind of gross looking, but if you get your nails done professionally I'm sure they could airbrush the tips black and the other part white....I would like to know how to do black and white acrylic nails. With the black as tips?
Paint your nail white the tip black and glue it on but as you would usually do when applying tips you can't file the bit it attaches to your nails as the polish will come off. So they will look bumpy.

Just use nail glue to attach the tips then leave it they will be more loose so try to get them as close to the root without looking bad as possible.

A fat guy slammed into my pinky toe and it bled and the nail turned all white and liquid came out of the toe..

and 4 hourse later its still white and it still hurts so should i cut it off? or what shoud ido?A fat guy slammed into my pinky toe and it bled and the nail turned all white and liquid came out of the toe..
DO NOT CUT OFF THE NAIL! it was normal for it to bleed. now the white is most likely just a blister...dont pop the blister...it will heal on its' own and then the nail will fall off on its own...when this happens put a bandaid on it and let the nail grow back. if the blister worsens or does not heal within 2 weeks, call your doctor and set up an appointment..this could mean that your body is not responding to the blister...if it worsened this could mean that it somehow got infected.

good luck and ...OUCH! i know how you feel.this same type of thing happened to me.A fat guy slammed into my pinky toe and it bled and the nail turned all white and liquid came out of the toe..
    Cut the loose nail off.

Then (this will hurt) you will have to disinfect with either alcohol or whatever else you can.

You might want to take some tylenol or advil to stop the pain too.

put an bandaid on it tonight so it will not get trapped on the bed sheets and making it worse.
Your nail will probably gradually fall off, but if it hurts really bad for a while, see a doctor because too much pressure has built up under the nail and they may take it off.
    HA! HA!

I would go to the hospital or go to urgent care where you live.

How do i get my nails white?

does bleach work? or would that make it worse? ive tried whitening tooth paste but i dont know if i have to do that a bunch of times.. or what? How do i get my nails white?
    White nail polish.

Nails are pink because they are on your nail bed, a part of your finger consequently filled with capallaries.

If you want the tips of your nails to be whiter than they are, then you need to start wearing a base coat under your nail polish so they aren't stained or discolored (often yellowy) from oter nail polish. Also, using a nail buffer will help take off some of the layer of staining and make your nails hiny-- however, the bases of your nails, which are *pink* will stay pink. How do i get my nails white?
    noooooooooooooooooo dont bleach them dont!!!!

Rub them with lemon..probably u`l get the results

u`l get good transparent nail polish(white colour too) which gives the illusion of natural nails so u can use them tooo..

    anyway good luck...
eat more vegatables and drink more water.

    do not use bleach!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can also buy a white nail pencil (it allows you to color underneath the white part of your nails.)

other than that- there's really no way to make your nails white naturally- it comes from the inside out. also don't put nail polish on w/out putting on a base coat- it'll stain your nails.
soak your fingernails in lemon juice

  • Question on finger nails--uneven white part of nail at the tip..?

Okay, this will sound stupid but I've asked a couple people and they don't seem to understand what I'm talking about but...

The natural white tip of nails when they're grown out, that part where it meets the normal pink of the nail is all uneven and wiggly. All the people I see have a perfect even strip of white on their nail tips if it's grown out and unpainted--but mine aren't. They're all filed evenly and I've never chewed on my nails so I don't see how they're not even...

How can I fix this? I tried going under the nail and pushing it back a little to even it out, but it didn't work very well. =/

Sorry if this sounds totally stupid heheQuestion on finger nails--uneven white part of nail at the tip..?
i have the exact same problem. i think its best to see a professional. its really embarrassing coz you cant grow your nails. they look really bad.Question on finger nails--uneven white part of nail at the tip..?
i get what your saying. if you totally stop trying to even it out or even clean under your nails ( i know grows huh) the skin starts to attach itself back to the nail and it will become more even.

i had a nail like that but it does take some time. until then keep them painted so know body knows that it might be dirty under there

Pink and white sets are basically an acrylic set that ..but they use pink acrylic for your nail bed and a white tip and white acrylic for where your tip is so it is frenched with the paint coming off. the pink and white nails that i have ever seen have always made your nails look FAKE. i don't prefer them.... if you think the white on the french is too white, then you won't like the pink and white nails.

i like the look of long natural looking nails that don't even need polish because they look so real.

i walk in and ask for the basic set. with a clear coat.

the first original set cost me $15 fill ins are $12. i always see the same person and always pay with a $20 bill.

tipping will play a major part in how your nails look..

i have figured this out thru the years of wearing and having to pay for the nails.

every once in a while do a graphic, but only on 1 or 2 nails...over the clear background... looks very stylish and sexy depending on the graphic.

( the $20 will usually cover 1 graphic and still give a small tip)

The healthy diet is key. Everyone is diferent, and since nutrition is like a puzzle, as in some vitamins dont really stay with us and get utilized properly unless other elements that work with them are present, studying good eating habits, and learning more on what works with what can greatly help, but it all takes time.

There is no magical cure all for any body changes people want, nail strength and color or losing weight, clearer skin or over all health.

Nails take months to completely grow out. Start drinking knox gelitan, eating jello too. Daily vitamins are very essential, get one though that is appropriate for your age group. Not super vitamins that are too overloaded. Prenatal vitamins are great, they are for anyone to take too, not expensive really either. They just have good combinaitons of things.
Try this method: Fill a bowl with enough lemon juice to cover your fingernails. Next, wash your hands, scrubbing under the nails.Soak your nails in lemon juice for about 2 minutes or until your nails are noticeably whiter. Remove hands and wash with mild soap and water. Cover hands with hand lotion. Good luck!

How do i get red nail polish out of my white carpet? HELP!!!?

i just dumped a TON of red nail polish on my white carpet and don't know how to get it out. does anyone have any tips...it is seriously bad.How do i get red nail polish out of my white carpet? HELP!!!?
Heres a blog on removing nail polish from carpet:

    http://blogs.findanyfloor.com/consumer/C鈥?/a>

there are a few ways of doing it so keep trying each way until its out.

water and hydrogen peroxide worked best for meHow do i get red nail polish out of my white carpet? HELP!!!?
Pour a generous amount of nail polish remover on the spot %26amp; blot carefully with clean paper towel. Repeat until the polish is gone. The blotting is very important!!!! Once the nail polish is removed, add more remover to the spot %26amp; blot, so you can get rid of the stain that the polish will leave.

If that doesn't work, go to the carpet store where your carpeting was purchased, %26amp; tell them about the nail polish accident. Ask if they have a white carpet sample, that matches your carpeting. If so, using a utility knife/box cutter, %26amp; cut a piece of the carpet sample, to match the size of the spot where the nail polish is. Then cut out the ruined section of carpeting, in a square, then fit the new piece in place. A carpet installer, will use seaming tape %26amp; a special iron, to secure the new piece of carpet. Depending on what he charges, you can glue it down yourself, or use a piece of double face tape, to keep the carpet piece in place.
I think I read to use a hair blower and warm it to get it softer and gentle work on it. But Im sure there will be some stain. So then need clean it.

Another idea : is to take a piece that fits size the bad one from closet ,if any. Cut away bad and fit snuggly new piece matching the nap direction. I did this on a lamp bulb burn, many years ago. The new piece will need glued in. If afraid tackel this then ask a carpet man if he can do it.
my kid got some on our white carpet. Get some CLEAR polish remover, acetone and wet the spot then use a clean cloth to press down on the spot to blot it up. Do not RUB.
What zocko and short stuff said, then when all thats left is a red satin, use dish soap to get the red stain out.
Call a professional. You may even be able to claim this accident on your insurance.
whatever you do dont rub it in anymore!!!

What do I need to do my own pink and white acrylic nails. How hard is it?

I'm a college student and getting really sick of paying thirty to fifty dollars to have my nails done.

It doesnt LOOK that hard, maybe I'm missing something? I can see that it will be hard to do my non dominant hand. Does anyone else do their own pink and whites?

I'm assuming I'll need the powders, metal tool for the white, pink. Brush, liquid, primer... and a file of some sort..What do I need to do my own pink and white acrylic nails. How hard is it?
If you have a Sally Beauty Supply where you live you can purchase a kit that has all the tools you need including brushes. Otherwise, look for a beauty supply store. They should have a kit. You need powders, the liquid to add to the powder, tips, glue %26amp; a buffer. I tried it and they looked like crap. Practice would probably not make perfect but it would look better after a while. What do I need to do my own pink and white acrylic nails. How hard is it?
    Hi there,

To do your own acrylic nails at home

    You will need:

    Monomer (liquid) from 拢10

    Polymer (powder) from 拢10

    Cuticle eraser/remover from 拢6

A precision pushie knife from 拢8

or an orange stick covered with a lint free wipe

A good acrylic brush from 拢15

    Nail primer from 拢10

    Nail dehydrator from 拢8

    Lint free wipes from 拢2.50

A dappen dish from 拢2 (I use a glass tealight holder)

    A pipette dropper from 拢1

    A 180 grit file from 拢1

    A 240 grit file from 拢1

A 3 way buffer (or hard top coat) 拢

Tips (taylor to your nail shape) 拢30

    Adhesive from 拢5

    Tip cutters from 拢6

    Nail oil from 拢3

Nail scissors or clippers if you need to trim your nails

It isn't easy to do right if you are not trained and unless you are really careful, you could end up with an allergic reaction to the acrylic. You absolutely must not allow any product (apart maybe from the nail dehydrator) to touch any part of your skin. Always try to leave a small 1mm gap at zone 3 (the cuticle).

I do my own nails now, because I'm trained and can do it safely.

dont use a clear coat on your nails-the more you paint them any color at all the more they will yellow. i advise you to get OPI original nail envy nail strengthener. there is something in that that is made especially for non-yellowing. like always things dont happen over night so it may take a week or two for you to notice a difference. good luckHow can i make my nails white?
hey, wash your nails in a shampoo... ( soak them up in a shampoo)

the shampoo helps nail get back the natural color.. and the yellow part will go away.

hope that heps. :)How can i make my nails white?
hiiiii atti wash your nails with surf exel simple
    use white nail polish.
the problem is the nail polish that you are using to grow your nails. try a different type or consider using a colored nail polish with something added to make your nails strong.

What can i do, i got my nails dont (white tip) ?

i got my nails dont (white tip) and they dont shine at all what can i do. also one of them is turning yellow please help %26gt;????%26gt;?%26gt;?%26gt;?What can i do, i got my nails dont (white tip) ?
Rip them off. What can i do, i got my nails dont (white tip) ?
You could just fix it yourself with some tape, to put over the clear part of your nail so you don't get any white nail polish on it and paint the yellow part white again. Then after that all dries and you take your tape off of your nail you should just paint over your nails with clear nail polish.
Go back to the salon and ask them to repair the yellowing tip.....then ask them to apply a coat of high shine gel over them.....It might cost you but your nails will look great

Why do the tips of your finger nails turn white?

Your nails are clear. They appear pink because they are pressed against your skin, and when they grow, the tips are not against the skin and there is air underneath, causing them to look white. Why do the tips of your finger nails turn white?
The rest of your finger nail is attached to your finger so once it grows away form your finger it just naturally turns white. Why do the tips of your finger nails turn white?
That's the bit which is not connected to you skin your whole nail would look like that if it was pulled off, the pink bit is your finger.

What color nail polish should i wear with a black dress, with small white, and light pink dots, pink ribbon???

wearing hot pink shoes, and headband.

thats what i am wearing, just wanna know the color nail polish to wear.

thanks! What color nail polish should i wear with a black dress, with small white, and light pink dots, pink ribbon???
I would either do white tips or soft pink. It really depends on what kind of event you are wearing this to. To something formal I would go for softer pinks or white tips. If its dancing or something more fun and casual, go for the black or even white nails if you want to be a little funky. I personally would just do the white tips. It matches with everything. :-)What color nail polish should i wear with a black dress, with small white, and light pink dots, pink ribbon???
You can white tip the toes too OR do the white tips on your fingers and then a pink on your toes.

I love Black and Pink anything, seeing that you already have alot going on with the outfit (I mean that in a good way) I think a pale pink polish would be really nice :o)
Yeah the idea with the solid black and pink and white dots sounds the best.
a dark pink. it gives a sexy look
    light pink
go for white or pink. since thats your colors in your outift. or go with a pale pink so that you can wear it with anything really and it's not to attention taking to your nails instead of you.
Try black nail polish as a base with pink dots every other nail and white dots on the other nails.

Or mix the colors up (pink base, black and white dots etc...)

Maybe you don't like dots... try a stripe

Have fun with it! Solid colors on fingers can be boring when your outfit is fun!
    french manicure or light-dark pink...
Best go with a light pink or if you uncertain, nothing could go wrong with french manicure with light pink. Good Luck.
hot pink, light pink, french tipped, white or black
    Pink!
black nail polish with white and light pink dots so they match

Why do our nails become white if we press it?

please i want to know whats the answer for this! Why do our nails become white if we press it?
You are squeezing the blood out of the capillaries that run underneath your nail. The nail and subcutaneous tissue are generally pale in color, so removing the blood makes it look pale.

    iridescent, pearl, or red.
definetely red, the one I'm thinking of is called ';corvette red';.
How about either black or a French manicure?
what color corsage are you going to have, match that, if not, go neutral.
A nice cherry red for contrast. PLEASE don't even consider black.
    light pink
I would say clear or maybe a nude colour
i think white on your fingers and black on yur toes would be TOO ADORABLE!!
    Fuchsia.

    Gold

    Silvery white

    French manicure
I'm Not Really A Waitress by OPI. It is an AWESOME red.
Fire Engine Red? It depends on the effect you want. White, clear, pale pink and french manicure are all very good ideas if you want to be demure, but blazing red would look smashing if you have nicely shaped nails.
go for some neutral or white, you don't want it to stand out too much, maybe a french or a light pink.
Neutral shades, preferably French manicure for fingers and clear for toes. Pale pink and taupe will also work.
    clear french tips
    Pearl or French will complement
Go with a simple french manicure for both. If you want to jazz it up just a little add a little clear jewel on the pinkie nails on your hands and on the big toes on your feet.
A deep red is nice. I wear one by Sally Hansen (hard as nails) #31 on my toes and don't wear any polish on my fingers so i would go with a french manicure on them.
go with an pink french tip with diamonds

Why are my nails getting white spots, again?

Ok, I got those white spots on my nails before. I heard that zinc defenciency was the problem so I took three pills of zinc a day. It worked for about a couple months, but now they're appearing on a few of my fingers again. What's going on? Should I take more zinc? And if so then how much can my body handle without getting zinc poisoning? Are there other possible reasons why?Why are my nails getting white spots, again?
It is caused by problems with Calcium.

It can be said to be a Calcium Def, but it's more often a matter of getting enough Calcium plus other things that help it build and attach to things.

I would suggest increaseing your Calcium %26amp; D ( D helps Calcium build into things correctly), Zinc ( something else helpful for building, but it makes your blood better at their jobs), and Beta Caroten + E ( these are for Skin, Nails, Bone, and Tissue.. it helps them absorb things in faster and better as well as working with balanceing things that get weaved together and then recognized for their color and transparency/clearity,.. these are also good for your eyes and body chemistry).

Added: Beta Careton is found in a few things,.. mostly things with a kind of Orange Color. Carrots are most well known, I think Sweet Potatos and Yams have them. I am not sure about Eggs and Orange Juice. I have heard some Sqush has it ( I think Pumpkin counts as a Sqush so maybe that is a source). I forget the other names for Beta Caroten and I can't spell well enough to get it's name right XD People usually assosiate with Carrots, Rabbits, and Eyes when they hear the Beta Caroten. Why are my nails getting white spots, again?
I heard it was a Calcium deficiency, so try eating food stuffs with high calcium levels such as cheese and dairy products
I get them when I'm bothered by allergies, so different times of the year can cause them to break out
This could happen because of zinc defenciency, but most likely it's because your nailbed has been bruised. Before your nails grow, if you bruise the nailbed (the area right below your nails), this will leave that white mark. Don't worry about it too much. I know this sounds like B.S., but trust me, I've talked to my mom's friend about this and she's like a walking Snapple cap (also, her husband's a pediatrician).

How do u get pink nail polish out of white hollister pants???

please help!!!! I love my pants and i have tryed every thingHow do u get pink nail polish out of white hollister pants???
It depends on the material. If it's some of the synthetics you're out of luck. You can try a little acetone. If that doesn't eat the material you should be able to pull most of the polish out. If that doesn't work, you can try a little paint stripper, but again, that might eat the material. Good luck. How do u get pink nail polish out of white hollister pants???

How much should full-set pink and white acrylic nails cost me?

I am getting acrylic nails for the first timeHow much should full-set pink and white acrylic nails cost me?
A full set with a french manicure usually is anywhere from $30 to $50 depending on where you go. A genuine full service salon will be on the high end and those cheap nail salons (that only do nails) will of course be the lower end. It is customary, if you are happy with your nails, to leave the tech a tip as well so you must figure in that too. Usually the tip is anywhere from $5 to $10 above the flat rate. After your first full set, it requires to be filled every few weeks or so. That is usually $20-$30. If you opt to upgrade from acrylic to gel nails....that will run you on average $10 to $20 more for set and fills. How much should full-set pink and white acrylic nails cost me?
It will cost u around 40 to 50 dollars. The first time I got my done it cost 50 dollars. The first time you get them done when you leave you will experience some pain in your nail on the lower part of your nail. And you will also have to go back every 2 weeks to get them filled in the bottom of your nails. I hope I helped you.
    depending on your salon $35+
if they are really good around $40 give or take a few.
probably anywhere between $5 to $15. they wont be more than like 10 though

its sort of like the nail part but thick and liquity...under the nail....i dont want to have to go to the doctor what should i do???? HELP!!!!!!!!My toenail is lifted up and like white thick fluid is coming out like if the nail was desolving what to do?
i think you have some fungal growth under your nail. im sure the area affected is also itchy. the nail itself wouldnt easily be removed unless with force. and if this happens, you should expect blood and extreme pain. better to go to a dermatologist. depending on the severity of the condition, you will be prescribed a specific anti-fungal medication. could be taken orally or applied topically or both.My toenail is lifted up and like white thick fluid is coming out like if the nail was desolving what to do?
you have white puss coming out all you can do is squeeze your toe to get all ov it out. and wipe with vinegar im a doctor i know.
That white stuff is pus. This is a definite sign that your toe is infected. Do not fool around with this and get yourself to the doctor's office ASAP. Good luck!
Muscle up and go to the doctor. Sounds like you may need some medicine!
    go to E R

How can i make the tips on my nails white???

they get dirty underneath and when i clean them, they don't seem to get any whiter. anything i can do at home would be nice....thanks in advanceHow can i make the tips on my nails white???
Buy a box of the polydent (maybe called..???) anyways, the product that is meant to soak dentures in for cleaning purposes. Follow the directions on the box (simply disolving the tablet in warm water) and soak your fingers in the water.

Hope this helps! How can i make the tips on my nails white???
you could buy a sally hansen at home french manicure kit its cheap and easy to use
I dont know of any treatments or diets or anything of that sort to make them whiter, but I have been told that you can use white eye liner to whiten the underside of the nail tip. Just make sure your nails are clean, and are free from cuts. Aside from that, I recommend a french manicure or any other opaque nail polish (this is what I end up doing, seems more low maintenance than the eyeliner method). Also, if wearing darker colored nail polish, always use a base coat to prevent your nails from getting stained. This would prevent nail discoloration.
You can get these nail whiteners that are like a pencil that you rub underneath your nail which makes them whiter. They're really cheap but failing that you could get french tips!
you can buy nail tip whitener pencils for this. Or give yourself a french manicure. You can also have white acrylic tips put on to give you white tips.

You may need to use acetone - found in the paint department.

Some nail polish removers contain a little, but most have no acetone and can just make the stain worse.

Um...it sounds to me like you may have to throw the clothes out. I am terribly sorry. That is a really unpleasant situation. I do not know of a single thing that can get nail polish out of fabric. I got bright red nail polish on one of my white towels a year ago and despite wash after wash, it is still there as vibrant as ever
First, you take nail polish remover and put it on for a few minutes. Then, put it in the wash on hot and don't put it in the dryer. Hang it someone were it wont get ruined. It should be gone by then.

Its to do with calcium, its no big deal. It will grow out with your nail. Maybe you need to be drinking more milk.A white spot has appeared on my left hand middle finger nail. It is covering about 1/8th of the nail?
i've always been told you get them if you don't eat healthy
I've read that those little white spots are an indicator that you are lacking certain nutrients (calcium I think) but I don't remember where I read it. From personal experience- I used to get them when I wasn't eating very heathily. Now that I eat three good meals a day, I don't get them any more...
a white spot on the nail is a ';bruise'; you most likely injured that finger a while back in that spot and have forgotten about it.

It could also be a sign of zinc deficiency, or sign of another health problem.

    http://www.dermadoctor.com/pages/newslet鈥?/a>

    .
Either you aren't taking in enough calcium or you bumped your nail. Drink some milk and/or eat some cheese and you'll be fine. If you just bumped it, just let it heal.
You need to eat healthier, and trim your nails, it can also be dry skin depending on the shade of white.
sometimes if you mash ur fingerr really hard then it creates an air bubble under the nail it will come out withinlike a month @ the most if not consult a doctor

Not everyone has a nail plate that is white as it becomes free edge. Some are white with clear spots, and some are mostly clear. There is nothing you can do to change this as it is genetic. If it has only occurred suddenly - that is, if they used to be white, it has just finally changed to your usual colour. Bleach will not do the trick, neither will nail whiteners that are sold over the counter at beauty supply stores - they will only remove any yellow cast from the underside of the free edge. You could try white pencils designed for nails, or opt for a thin overlay of a pink and white acrylic or gel. A lack of calcium is shown by the 'moon' near the base of your nails becoming larger and easliy visable. What do you think about white nail polish...?

i've had this nail polish for about a month and yesterday i thought why not? so i have the nail polish on now, and i went searching to see what others thought about it. and tons say ';no'; because it looks like white out. and some say ';yea'; because it looks clean cut and fresh. i'm not light skinned, but i'm not that dark either.. i'm a bit in the middle i guess. (for african american standards lol) so my question is, is white nail polish ok? or are people still going with the ';ew, that looks like white out.'; routine? What do you think about white nail polish...?
i think it would look good with how you describe your skin color. if it's smooth like any other nail polish and not blotchy like it would look like if you actually put white out on then it would look kinda cool if you ask meWhat do you think about white nail polish...?
I use white nail polish to make a home-made french manicure. You just put the white nail polish on your tips of your nails and Tah-dah! --cute manicured nails.

I think it looks OK...it doesn't do much for me because I think the nail polish can make you look washed out. That's just my opinion.

Well white looks bad if you cover your whole nail with it because yeah it looks like white out but if you want to put it to use try a french manicure. you know? white tips......... hope this helps AND french is SO very cute. with any skin color.

white nail polish is def cutee%26lt;3 it's my fav:) you have to be very careful in painting your nails with white nail polish because it can come out lumpy and make ppl think it's white out when it's not! so make sure it's smooth.

    hope i helped, good luck:)

White nail polish is actually taking some of the spotlight away from the usual dark or black nails. When worn with dark clothing it can actually make the outfit have more of an edge than black nail polish would just because of the contrast.
i like it. it's unique and it goes with anything.

i think it's a yes because if you like why not? and it's cool looking.

i'm hispanic looking for i think it looks cool on me.
Who cares what other people think what matters is what you think about it! If you like it keep it.If you don't get rid of it!
I like it.. I think it looks classy and clean..I don't think it's ever out of style...but I wouldn't do super thick chalky white.. maybe a white that is slightly sheer.. that makes nails look bright and whiter.
haha someone said that to me too when i wore white nail polish. You can also try wearing off-white or silver-- they looks clean and fresh also
nah white nail polish is fine

as long as you have some tan then it will make you look even darker! but if you are really pale it just makes you look wierd

    go for it!
i love white nail polish because you can add polka dots on it with anycolor
no i think it looks very cute and clean.

maybe next time you could try alternating the nails like white and pink every other
the only time white nail polish is acceptable in my books is in french manicures. i just don't think it looks good.
It looks good on French manicures.

If you have dark hands, it wont look good.
    o.o......

White polish is my fav %26lt;3
I'm fond of white with a dot of another color right in the center!

    BOING!
    I like it :-)
    love it.
    Yes, It looks really good.

I actually might and go get some myself now that I think about it!

    Thanks :)
y listen to others?? do what you want and be unique :)
    be creative so why not
I like it. I painted my nails white the one time and people started coping me. I think its unique.
if it look gloss them i geuss its alrite put some desines on them

If nails grow up why is the tip the only part of the nail that looks white, besides the very bottom.?

Because it isn't attached to the skin. It's like smooshing clear glass against your face... the glass is clear until you introduce your face to it, then it appears flesh-colored.If nails grow up why is the tip the only part of the nail that looks white, besides the very bottom.?
I think the reason the whole nail isn't white is because it's right on top of your skin, which is pinkish, so it tints the nail color as well.

That;s why when your nails come off, they're entirely white.

Ew, gruesome much?If nails grow up why is the tip the only part of the nail that looks white, besides the very bottom.?
    .

Nails don't just grow up like plants at the tip. The tip itself is not growing more nail but it is being pushed out as the bottom of the nail grows inside the skin and flesh. As more nail grow, the more it gets pushed outward. If you don't clip them (or don't break or wear them out climbing rocks like cavemen did) it would just keep growing like long hair.

While it is in contact with flesh (and blood which gives the pinkish color) it has a color while when it reach the tip, t is on its own and lifeless becoming white - which is its natural color.

    .
the cuticles are always a different color than the tip, unless they r painted
You are no longer seeing what is below/through the nail plate, which of where the nail bed(connective tissue) is at.

As your nail grows, you will see or think of the nail to be white but because it is translucent(semitransparent). It is this what gives it, it's white appearance.
Wow. I wish I had enough time in the day to ponder that thought.
The white colored one is for u to chip it off using a nail clipper. while the pinkhish one is still growing
Because that's the oldest part of the nail.
Actually i think aall of the nail is white but because of the skin it looks as if it is browinish. Well us girls dont really need the colour cause we put on nailpolish

  • Are there any white nail polish bottles with thin brushes?

I got one from a manicure kit, and I loved it because of its thin brush. but i used it all, and i don't want to buy ANOTHER manicure kit, because then, i'd have double of everything. so is there any type of bottle that's good for manicures, like with the thin brush? I don't have a Sally Henson store near me. where i pretty much get my manicure stuff is walmart and target and walgreens. so can you tell me if there r such bottles that exist and where? thanxxxxx! Are there any white nail polish bottles with thin brushes?

There is a great brand named Art Deco.

They're usually 2 bucks each but they come in all colors.

They should be in all your local clothing stores and in Sally's Beauty Supplies.
Art Deco is a nail polish with only small detail brushes.

Here's the link so that you can see what they look like,

How to make my nail tips whiter?

I heard lemon juice works because of the citric acid I was wondering if that was all that works or if I could use orange juice because it also has citric acid in it.How to make my nail tips whiter?
There are special nail pencil things you can buy that are like white eyeliner and you color it on under the tips of your nails to make them whiter.

Or, you could just get a French manicure :)How to make my nail tips whiter?
I usually scrub my nails with a nail brush under warm soap water to remove any stains or dirt underneath.

You can soak them in toothpaste, but will work a little
I just jab my fingernails into a bar of soap %26amp; that cleans them!
Either I paint underneath my nails or jab them into a bar of soap.

How can i paint my nails white?

how can i paint my nails white without having it to look like i used white out?How can i paint my nails white?
use a clear base coat, then paint 2-3 coats of white, then add a top coat of clear polish for shine and chipping protectionHow can i paint my nails white?
i didn't understand what you're trying to do. are you trying to make your natural nail color brighter by using a transparant-like white nail laquer or trying to paint them absolutly white. not sure but think you ment the first one, you can use i slighty matte transparant like white one like i said so it may look naturally bright
paint them white and then maybe add a cute nail art sticker to them. it makes them look like they were done with polish instead of white out. also put a clear coat over it to make it more polished looking.
Trust me, you can tell when people use white out. It either looks TOO white or really lumpy. If you use nail polish it won't look the same, nail polish and white out have very different finishes.
Well, I went and bough that everlasting french kiss ****,

and i used the stuff your supposed to paint the french part with.

    oh hot damn..

    i use white out..
you can go for a cream colored white/vanilla color that has iridescence
    Damn, I use white out.
nail lacquer,or polish most brand carry white for french nails

I got white nail tips and go for fill ins every 3 weeks but im low on money, and was thinking of waitin 5 week

I got nail tips at the salon, what if i wait 5 weeks instead of my usual 3 to get nail fill ins? what happens?

due to money issues, ive waited 3 weeks already since my last fill in, but i want to wait another 2 weeks until i get my next pay check. my nails wont fall off will they? they will only LOOK bad right? or do i HAVE to get the fill ins now? pleae help!I got white nail tips and go for fill ins every 3 weeks but im low on money, and was thinking of waitin 5 week
Waiting too long will require them to do a little more work on them if you wait 5 weeks total before getting them filled. What happens is that your real nails will continue to grow out and the gap from your cuticle to the area where the acrylic or gel was applied will become wider and your nails will start to curve a little because of the weakness in the area from the length of the gap if you have weak nails. If your naild are healthy and strong it wont so much but will require more fill and filing when you go back. I suggest applying two coats of clearcoat in just the area that is gapped and then after both of those dry polish your whole nails with a coat, this will help flatten out the gap and give your nails a upkept look instead of them starting to look bad.I got white nail tips and go for fill ins every 3 weeks but im low on money, and was thinking of waitin 5 week
when i skip like this i usually wind up paying more because of needed repairs. the day after you get them done paint over them with sally hansen's super shiny. it will keep them looking great for longer. get a can of that spray that dries them so that you won't mess them up. reapply as needed. i've been doing this for years and it works great
waiting too long (over 3 weeks) will result in your nails falling off.

    being very brittle.

damaging cuticle bed (pulling your fake nail)

    and look BAD.

Just get it done or get it taken off.
